SUPERPOWERS

What superpower would you like to possess? As kids, we imagine wearing an invisibility cloak or,

perhaps, having the ability to move objects and read minds; the list can go on. It is fun to imagine.

Funnily, this stays the same when we become adults. Overwhelmed at work, we wish to have a

superhuman ability to get things done; in personal relationships, we wish we could read minds to

understand our partners better, or any relationship for that matter. It comes in handy. But why? Why do

we wish to have these powers? It’s super cool, – a kid would reply. As an adult, it is more about control,

power, success, and more. These are the easy answers. At the ground level, it all comes down to the

feelings we would experience when we possess these powers – invincible, no pain, maximized

pleasure, being accepted, loved, and understood—feelings of joy in being fully self-realized.

What if I tell you we all can have these superpowers? In fact, you already do. They may appear

ordinary at first. They come through training and conditioning our mind and allowing our heart to

become exactly what it is meant to be. Throughout history, when examining the lives of those with the

most significant impact on humanity in a way that made us wonder – how did these people have the

capacity and strength to achieve, sustain, apply, and share them?

The ones that we are familiar with who shaped society on a large scale were Mother Theresa,

Nelson Mandela, and Mahatma Gandhi, to name a few. What they all had in common was the love and

kindness that shined like a star. The warmth they radiated and its impact shaped the fabric of our

society. Now, if we look back and examine our own lives, who impacted you the most? I am certain

those who showed the most love, kindness, acceptance, forgiveness, tolerance, genuineness,

sincerity, and pure heart. Alternatively, when we experienced the most pain, it made us realize and

examine the corresponding virtue in ourselves that was exposed bare.

These virtues are in all of us; they are our identity. They are the shining treasures, the energy that

propels us forward.

How? This would require hitting a reset button in our minds. Like a computer, the old, outdated

draining programs shall be closed, and the new processor installed to operate in a different modality.

The “heavy”, unresourceful, and draining tasks are to be exited. The “old” mode of approach to life

wiped clean of hurt and pain. This requires a shift in mindset and reshaping of our approach to life.

Often, we inquire about the nature of love and kindness; they became a descriptive representations of

a person. What is the Sun? We describe it as a celestial object, energy-dense, radiating warmth.

Regardless of how we may describe it, it is still the Sun. Likewise, what is love and kindness? You are

love and kindness, compassion and patience, gratitude and sincerity, strength and acceptance. These

virtues are not just a description; they are our identity. We put the shade on a lamp covering the truth

of our true nature. We stand in our own way of allowing ourselves to shine.

It is our identity, nature, and way of life. We are the jewels, the purest diamonds, the mirror to this

world. Let us allow ourselves to be who we truly are – ourselves.

You have all superpowers. You are the superpowers. Allow yourself.
